There are many different ways you can pay your rent quickly and securely – and in a way that works for you.

When Do You Pay Your Rent?

You pay your rent weekly in advance. However, we can arrange for you to pay it fortnightly or monthly if you prefer.

How To Pay Your Rent

You can choose to pay your rent in the most convenient way for you.

Options for paying your rent, include:

You can pay your rent online using Allpay.

This is a quick and easy way to pay your rent through your personal online account at allpayments.net.

You will need an Allpay card to pay your rent – call the Nehemiah Housing Association office on 0121 358 0966 during our opening times to order one.

Alternatively, you can pay via an automated telephone service run by Allpay by calling 0330 041 6497.

You can register online at allpayments.net/textpay to pay your rent by text at any time.

To pay your rent this way you text a simple code and the amount you wish to pay to a designated number.

You can set up a direct debit for your rent payments by filling out our direct debit form or we can take your bank details over the telephone. You can cancel your direct debit with us at any time and choose to pay your rent a different way. If you would like to complete a direct debit form please email contact@nehemiah.co.uk or telephone 0121 358 0966.

You can ask your bank to pay your rent directly from your account to us at set times. If you want to pay by standing order, we can send you a form to fill in and return to your bank. Please email contact@nehemiah.co.uk or telephone 0121 358 0966 to request this.

Do You Need Help To Pay Your Rent?

If you are struggling to pay your rent please contact your Housing Officer straightaway.

We are here to help. If you can’t make the current payment plans for your rent work we will help you make a realistic plan to clear any rent debt you may have.

We can also put you in touch with Birmingham Settlement who can offer you free advice on budgeting and benefits.

You need to speak to us as soon as you experience any difficulties with paying your rent, to enable us to hopefully find a way for you to pay your rent going forward.

Available Help

There are steps you can take to help you pay your rent in the most stress-free way possible.

Universal Credit is replacing housing benefits and exists to help you to pay your rent.

With Universal Credit, all rent payments are paid directly to you and you are then responsible for paying Nehemiah.

If you are experiencing financial difficulties ask your Housing Officer to refer you to Birmingham Settlement.

Birmingham Settlement provides free, confidential independent money, benefits and debt advice to Nehemiah tenants and will be happy to help if you need some support.

A basic bank account is the most straightforward type of bank account you can have – it allows you to receive money and make payments as well as take cash out at a cash machine. But you will not be able to go overdrawn and into debt with this bank account.
