Foodbank Help

Posted on: 24 Jan 23

This list of food banks is not exhaustive and covers Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Smethwick.

The Birmingham Food Justice Network Map has been created to help you find assistance and covers foodbanks and food clubs/food pantries (where you can get cheaper food) and community cafés (where you can get a free or cheap hot meal).

How do I use a Foodbank?

Foodbanks use a voucher system. You can get a voucher from different services including advice services, social services, religious centres, support workers in schools, law centres, probation officer, social centres, health visitors, GPs and Citizens Advice . They will also give you advice on how to use the voucher and where your nearest foodbank is.

Using your voucher

Once you have been issued with a voucher, you can exchange this for a minimum of three days’ emergency food at your nearest foodbank.

The Trussel Trust also has a handy online find your nearest food bank search tool https://www.trusselltrust.org/get-help/find-a-foodbank/
